The Secret Life of a Book Blogger (or Two) Tag

We were tagged by Audrey at Forwards and Bookwards! Thanks ❤

1. How long have we been bloggers?

Sarah: Hehe… Personally, I’ve never blogged before. Ever.

So I’ve been blogging for three days now.

Faith: Yep I’ve book blogged for the same amount of time as Sarah… quite obviously I’d think 😛

2. At what point do we think we will stop?

I think.

Faith: What?! Sarah are you trying to bind me to a lifetime commitment without my approval? Um why don’t you just continue this whole thing by yourself right n- I’m kidding. I’d like to think that we’ll be doing this as long as we want to/at least able to which probably (hopefully) translates to never.

3. What is the best thing?

Sarah: About blogging? Getting to hang out with like minded people, as well as just putting your thoughts and feelings out there.

Faith: I just like to express my book obsessions & reflections through blogging and it’s cool how other people can understand your book struggles for things like waiting A MILLENNIUM for the next installment in a series. Meeting new book friends, I always find, is super great!!!

4. What is the worst thing? What do we do to make it ok?

Sarah: Trying to figure out how to do things on the website. Menus kill me because unlike the rest of my generation, I am not that technologically savvy. I generally cry and then go look up tutorials.

Google is a girl’s best friend!

Faith: I’ve got to say the same… not knowing how to figure some things here can sometimes get frustrating but searching things up help. Also I imagine that it’s going to be tougher to keep up with this as well as with school work during the school year. But let’s just not go there for now haha.

5. How long does it take you to create/find pictures to use?

Sarah: Not long at all… it’s my favourite part of creating a post! Some of them are so perfect that I plan posts simply to use them!

Me and moving pictures: a love story

Faith: On the contrary it sometimes takes awhile for me because when looking for them it’s just so much fun ~ watching/seeing all of them and deciding which ones to use is difficult!

6. Who is your book crush?

Sarah: Um… you’re gonna have to get specific here. First, by type (book, manga, graphic novel) and then by genre. 😉

Exchange him with them and you’ll have an idea of what I’m like.

Faith: Hmm… It’s got to be from the PJO crew. I have to say Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase. But also Leo Valdez. I can’t choose. I guess it’d be Percy because he’s really hilariously witty with a great personality like someone I’d be friends with but it honestly will always be Percabeth; Annabeth is just the best when she’s annoyed at Percy. Leo because his random sense of humour would basically be me and sometimes I find it odd how I can somewhat understand & relate to some of the things he does. Though to be honest the entire crew from the books are pretty amazing… they bring out each other’s best sides!

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

Just imagining it is giving me palpitations

Faith: RICK RIORDAN DEFINITELY… Sarah you could not have possibly forgotten Marissa Meyer! To have either on our blog would probably make my LIFEEE because they’re my writing inspirations. They’re both just great. 🙂

8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?

Sarah: NOTHING. Just kidding. My home uniform (aka T-shirt and pants).

Faith: I wear my metaphorical fab writing hat, weirdness cloak, and comfy clothes (which usually consists of a t-shirt + sweatpants… oh and my fave hoodie + fuzzy socks when it’s cold). Obviously, you can see that we’re both über stylish and basically FASHION ICONS, am I right?

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

Sarah: A while… The noticeable lack of book reviews is a testament to my speed 😉

Faith: Well I take a while to read my books and then I like collecting all my thoughts on it but I’m forgetful so I’m planning to use stickies to mark out important parts and things like that. Then in general for blog posts the mini perfectionist side of me comes along and bugs me but besides that we’ll see how our first book review goes!

10. How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?

Sarah: SO FRIENDLY 😀 Everyone is interested in what you do, and so kind.

Faith: We’ve only been here for a few days but I feel like IT’S PRETTY GREAT! I’m glad that I get to be a part of it!

11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

Sarah: Post. Post what you love, what you’ve worked on. Staying in touch also seems like a big thing ~ but then again, I’m basically a three day old newborn.

Faith: I think that focusing on what you’re really passionate about, connecting with people about it, and just writing all the time will help to create better posts and things. Also I think having goals is important too, like knowing what you want to have in your blog and how you want it to happen. Then you persevere and work on accomplishing those goals! 😀

12. Who do you tag?

We tag: Avid Reader!

I loved your answers and all the funny gifs incorporated! 🙂 It was fun to hear how your answers differ and hearing you sometimes interact with each other in your answers. I can’t wait to read more of your posts in the future.

Thanks so much commenting such great things (& for tagging us again)! It was fun writing it too. The interacting thing was came up with on the spot haha but I’m glad you liked it. We sort of went crazy on gif using but I guess there can’t ever be enough. We’re going to be posting some more this weekend like actual posts and book reviews so if you want you’ll be able to read some of that soon! 🙂
