Sunshine Blogger Award & A Pancake vs Waffle Showdown

Yay, my first banner! (And I took the photo :3) Any thoughts? ~Faith

Hey there fellow bloggers, how’s it going?  ‘Tis I, Faith, and I have been nominated by Margot from Lectito for the Sunshine Blogger Award! Thank you very much! 🙂 Today, it’s not only an award post, but there’s also a bit of a WAFFLES VS PANCAKES SHOWDOWN. Oh yes, it’s happening. * grins maliciously * Continue reading

The Real Neat Blog Award!

Mucho gracias to Amy at Curiouser and Curiouser for nominating us! (This has definitely been long over due!) Check out her incredibly interesting blog 😀

imageedit_3_6506435815

1. Who is your favourite book/film/tv show character?

F: Leo Valdez hands down. And Percy. And Nine from Lorien Legacies. (A lot of people find him annoying but sometimes he’s just hilarious… and I too am sensing a pattern here. All of these three are the comic relief in action-y books.) Shahrzad (The Wrath and the Dawn) is also a great heroine.

S: Ummm… Cinder? Percy? Agnieszka? Humourous people in general? Am I allowed to list them by genre or book (and would you guys be willing to read a mile of writing)?

2. If you could choose to meet any famous person (alive or dead), who would you choose and why?

F: I’d meet poet Sarah Kay because her work inspires me to write and she does word play like some people play chess. 😉

S: JK Rowling because she WROTE HARRY POTTER, one of the most defining books of the past 2 and present 2 generations.

Elizabeth the Second? (Who am I kidding, I’m not even British.)

3. Are you a Harry Potter fan? Be honest.

F: I think we’ve established that I haven’t read enough of the books to be a legitimate hardcore fan. But I think I would be if I did finish the series. Right? There’s a lot of peer pressure though… (haha)

S: UM YES. YES YES YES YES. I even managed to infect some of my other friends into even more hardcore fans. For some reason, Faith seems immune ~ I’m still working on infecting her 😛

Did I mention how much I love her?

The Creative Blogger Award!

Thanks to Giselle @ Hardwork Boulevard for nominating us; we really appreciate it! 🙂 Go and check out her great blog if you haven’t yet! Once again, we’ve actually been nominated about a month ago but as you may know, Sarah was on vacay so we are now back with the responses!

  • Share 5 facts about yourself.
  • Nominate some bloggers in return and notify them about their nomination.
  • Keep the rules in your post to make it easy for everyone to know what to do.

5 FACTS ABOUT US

1. Faith and Sarah actually only met 2 years ago, but hit it off almost instantly.

F: Not without me being creeped out a bit first about Sarah… So not friends at first sight?

S: SORRY. I didn’t mean to be socially awkward ~ my first time making new friends.

F: Wow, talk about only having fictional characters as friends.

S: OR the same classmates for the past 5 years

F: Anyways we were basically pretty good friends pretty quick.

2. We both are junior editors for our school newspaper this year! Even though we aren’t perfect (psh perfect… name me one actually perfect human being S: MARISSA MEYER) writers, we’re going improve a lot more from this experience! WOOT!

How Our Blog Started & Some Advice

Sarah: So basically, I would like to start off by saying this blog wouldn’t be here without Faith. It would literally be one of those “yeah it would’ve been cool” and if we didn’t do it “I wish we did that when we were young” things.

Faith: Yeah, so true. (S: What happened to modesty Faith? lol) This blogging thing started with an idea like any other; it went like “I like books and you like books AND we’re friends, how about we make a book blog?” I definitely did not know that the world of blogging was this vast… we were pretty much heading in

to the unknown. We barely knew anything about blogs and people who blog about them as well as the whole community.

S: And that was how we got started. We spent a while on the design (this was our old look:)

A beta version I made to test out different themes

and then we actually started writing. When we started writing, we also started following other blogs, to see what made them successful. And that’s my first piece of advice: STALK A BLOG until you think you know what you are doing.

F: Yeah… I didn’t really know what I was doing. Still don’t really to be honest. 😛 (That’s my life for ya!) Continue reading
